"No One Will Make Them Afraid" (Micah 4:4)

πŸ’“ Valentine's Day is just around the corner πŸ’“

WW 84, based on the DC Comics character Wonder Woman (Diana), premiered on HBO Max Christmas Day. The saga is out there. Against all odds, Diana triumphed over America's, and the whole world's, sinister and power hungry Max Lord.

Cunning Max Lord, the egocentric and lawless "friend" of earth, offered to grant one wish of each and every person. The problem is, one person's tunnel-vision wish could be another person's nightmare. Unity was non-existent. Chaos and destruction ensued everywhere. In other words the goal, Make Yourself Great Again, miserably failed. Diana was the hero, and the world's fears were calmed.

I am currently neither Republican nor Democrat; instead, I voted against the candidate that I never voted for in the first place. On January 20th, it felt like our battle ended, for now. "Max Lord" no longer resides in "The House." COVID still remains, but I am hopeful.

Not one to be overcome emotionally by ceremony and Hollywood theatrics; yet unexpectedly, the inaugural celebrations lifted my spirits. Young Poetess Gorman's reading of, The Hill We Climb, vocal gifted Gaga's presentation of the National Anthem, and an over-the-top White House fireworks display all made me misty-eyed. I am relieved, because after 5 long years... chaos is shattered. Here comes the sun. I believe the 2020 elections were fair, and most importantly, legitimate. We all witnessed a miracle. Another peaceful transition of power occurred.

Many friends and family see it differently; I deeply care about the unborn. But, we throw out the favorable with the unfavorable when democracy, Lady Liberty, decency, and especially overall love and empathy are ignored. My baby was figuratively being split in half (1 Kings 3:23-28, The Bible).

We face a variety of challenges, because we are a democracy and a world full of flawed people (of whom I am the worst, 1 Timothy 1:15, The Bible).

This world is imperfect; it is not our eternal home. We were reminded of that during months of COVID lockdown when our world felt very unsafe. I had plenty of time to binge-watch Netflix's Turn[coat]: Washington's Spies, about bloody patriot times. From that and a variety of readings I surmise that those who performed a one-time storm into the Capitol Building on January 6th were participating in a group frenzy, fighting for one man's myopic cause... rather than brave patriots, who fight for country.

Over 2,000 years ago, when God sent his only Son Jesus down to this earth, to bravely live and die for us... love and empathy... and the means to our salvation, won out. Young Poetess Laureate Amanda Gorman quoted a needed calming Bible passage (it referenced the play Hamilton):

Everyone will sit under their own vine
and under their own fig tree,
and no one will make them afraid,
for the Lord Almighty has spoken
