My Eyes Are Full
Tears are a mystery, because we shed them for diverse reasons. Sad, mournful, embarrassed, happy, touched... tears just come. So, see me cry, and don't assume the emotion I feel is sadness.

And then there are touching tears. Tears that come because of a story's message or the way a special event feels. That happened just today.
The COVID pandemic has provided unusual opportunity for interaction with Littles and reading together. At the tail end of today's Facetime hour together we read a book about music, and God, and feelings about music. I said, "You know, I don't cry only when I am sad. Sometimes I cry when I feel touched by something and happy. That book made me happy cry. Thanks for reading it to me."
Little's response was something like, "God made music."
"Yes, He did. We sing music to God."
"But, God doesn't sing."
"Oh, maybe He does. When you look outside on a beautiful day, and you hear birds singing, maybe that is how God sings."
Little’s eyes sparkled at that perspective. "Yes, maybe!! God made birds. So you might be right!"
We chatted a little more, and read about the book's author... a musician and writer of music, which made sense. A musician's perspective is more ethereal and creative than mine. Song writers build, songs. And the right music soothes. Even now the entire conversation brings tears to my eyes. Happy tears. God knows we need positive and constructive ideas after the DC riots and yesterday's destruction.

Got me crying now!
